About our AADSM Accredited Facility

Our practice was the first in Connecticut to receive facility accreditation from the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). Accredited facilities represent a small and an elite group of centers around the nation recognized for proficiency, professionalism and procedural excellence regarding the treatment of patients with sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing.

The AADSM is the only non-profit national professional society dedicated exclusively to the practice of dental sleep medicine.

In order to become accredited, facilities must meet stringent quality measures outlined in the AADSM’s Standards for Accreditation of Dental Sleep Medicine Facilities. These standards detail expectations for the proficiency of a facility’s dental director and staff; practice of policies and procedures to oversee the acceptance, documentation and billing of patients; and professionalism of consumer care, follow-up ,service and safety.

Anthony T. Dioguardi, DMD., Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine:

Dr. Tony Dioguardi graduated magna cum laude from SUNY at Buffalo in 1979. He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from UCONN Health Center School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1983, receiving honors in the field of Oral Pathology. He completed his general practice dental residency at the West Haven V.A. Hospital, receiving emergency care training through the Hospital of Saint Raphael Department of Oral Surgery.
